FAQs
Do we have to live in Third Ward to join?
No. Families from Third Ward and surrounding communities are welcome.
Are teams co-ed?
Yes. Children of all genders are welcome at every age level.
Why is the registration fee $200, and what does it include?
The $200 fee covers the real costs of running the league. We are a community-led, volunteer-run organization, and we do not make a profit from registration. The fee helps pay for:
Uniforms (jersey, hat)
Equipment (practice gear)
Field rentals and maintenance
Game umpires
Insurance required through Little League®
We work hard to keep the cost as low as possible while still ensuring a safe and well-supported experience for the kids.
If the fee is a challenge, just let us know privately.
No child will be turned away or left out because of cost.
Do kids need experience to play?
No. Beginners are expected and encouraged. We teach fundamentals step-by-step.
Are you faith-based?
We are not a religious organization, and we welcome families of all beliefs.
However, the league reflects shared community values: kindness, respect, accountability, and care for one another.
Are you officially part of Little League®?
Yes. Third Ward Little League is an official Little League charter.
This means:
Coaches undergo background checks
Safety and training standards are enforced
We are locally run, with support at the national level
Where will practices and games take place?
We will play at fields in or near Third Ward. Final locations will be announced as soon as secured.
Will photos or videos of my child be used publicly?
We believe in celebrating our players, but we also respect privacy.
Before the season begins, families will receive a simple form where you can choose your photo consent preferences. No child will be photographed or posted without your permission.
