Registration FAQs
What ages can register?
1
We use Little League’s official League Age chart. Your child’s League Age is based on their birth month and year, not their age today.
For Spring 2026, eligible birthdates are:
Tee Ball (League Age 4–6):
Sept 1, 2019 – Aug 31, 2022Coach Pitch (League Age 5–6):
Sept 1, 2019 – Aug 31, 2021
Because League Age 5 and 6 overlap divisions, some children will be eligible for either Tee Ball or Coach Pitch.
This flexibility is normal and allows families to choose based on player confidence and experience.
Why do the birthdate ranges matter?
2
Little League divisions are based on League Age, and League Age determines future division placement and postseason eligibility.
For example:
Children born Sept 2019–Aug 2020 are League Age 6
Children born Sept 2020–Aug 2021 are League Age 5
Children born Sept 2021–Aug 2022 are League Age 4
This structure keeps all Little League programs consistent nationwide.
What if my child is 6 now but will turn 7 during the season?
3
If your child becomes League Age 7 based on the Little League chart, playing in a younger division this season may affect their eligibility for next year’s 7U team or postseason play. If the system does not allow you to register:
Email us before completing registration: info@thirdwardlittleleague.org
We can be flexible, but we want families to fully understand any future implications before choosing a division.
Why isn’t my seven-year-old able to register automatically?
4
League Age 7 players follow a different competitive path. They may be ineligible for 7U postseason play next year if they play down this season.
We require a conversation first so parents know exactly how this affects their child’s future baseball options.
Do you make exceptions?
5
Yes — case by case, after we discuss League Age and long-term impact with the family.
Why is the registration fee $200, and what does it include?
6
The $200 fee covers the real costs of running the league. We are a community-led, volunteer-run organization, and we do not make a profit from registration. The fee helps pay for:
Uniforms (jersey, hat)
Equipment (practice gear)
Field rentals and maintenance
Game umpires
Insurance required through Little League®
We work hard to keep the cost as low as possible while still ensuring a safe and well-supported experience for the kids.
If the fee is a challenge, just let us know privately.
No child will be turned away or left out because of cost.
You can reach us anytime via email at info@thirdwardlittleleague.org. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.
